October is known for all kinds of autumnal fun, from corn mazes and hayrides to trick-or-treating and carving jack-o-lanterns. But there’s something else special about October—it’s also National Roller Skating Month! At Lanham Skate Center, we love sharing the joy of roller skating with families in and around Lanham, especially during the official appreciation month. Read on to learn 5 fun ways to celebrate National Roller Skating Month.
Take a lesson.
If you’re not super confident on roller skates, that’s OK! Skating comes more naturally to some folks than it does to others, but taking a skating class is a great way to get caught up and find your skating stride.
Our roller skating classes take place every Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, and every Saturday from noon to 1 pm. We also have skate mates available for rental on Sundays from 1 to 7 pm, which can be helpful for little ones who are still finding their footing.
Book a party.
Nothing says party time like the roller skating rink! If you or a loved one has a birthday coming up soon, go ahead and make a reservation for your roller skating party. There’s no need to clean your house, fuss over food and drinks, and spend time decorating, all of which leave you feeling tired before the guests even arrive. (Not to mention the mess you get to clean up afterward.) Instead, leave the details to us and throw a party you’ll actually be able to enjoy!
Make a date.
With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be hard to make quality time with the one you love. Why not plan a fun, unique date night for your significant other? Roller skating is a great option for quirky dates because it’s got all the elements of a good date: Fun, ambiance, great music, and an excuse to hold hands.
Plan an event.
When it comes to school fundraisers and PTA events, we’ve got your back! Roller skating fundraisers are a great way to ensure turnout for your event and drive donations, whether for a school project, a field trip, or another great cause. Our Lanham skating rink can handle large crowds with ease, so you can relax and enjoy the event. Plus, people are more generous when they’re happy… And it’s basically impossible to be unhappy on roller skates!
Get connected.
There are so many more ways to celebrate National Roller Skating Month, but we’d be here all day! So we’ll just leave you with one last way—connect with us on social media. It’s the best way to stay up-to-date on all of our upcoming events, specials, and more. And it’s not a one-way street; we’d love for you to join the conversation and share your photos and videos with us on Facebook and Instagram!
