Halloween is over, and that means it’s almost time for our favorite holiday here at Lanham Skate Center. No, not Thanksgiving–we’re talking about National Family Week, November 19th through 25th! Here are some of our favorite ways to spend time together as a family.
Cook Up Some Fun
The holidays are all about food, and that can mean a lot of time stuck inside, parents slaving away over a hot stove while kids wander at loose ends. Why not get the whole family involved? Kids can help measure, prepare ingredients, read recipes, stir mixes, and of course sample goodies for quality. Kids can also help at the store. Have them plot out your route, keep track of the list, or even compare prices and coupons. Think how proud everyone will be when you recount your little chef’s contribution to holiday meals!
Skate and Play
When you’re ready to get out of the house a bit, what about a visit to Lanham? Check out our open skate hours, or even get the family together for lessons! Everyone can get some exercise to help ward off the holiday blues and really earn all those holiday goodies. If the great outdoors is your thing, the Lanham area is host to great hiking and biking trails. Even your own backyard or neighborhood can be a source of family fun–consider hosting your own picnics, backyard bonfires, or just long walks around your neighborhood.
No matter how you choose to celebrate your family, remember that the important part is to enjoy each other’s company. We hope your family will join ours at Lanham Skate Center!
